When you are meeting a friend and do not necessarily know good places to meet and eat when traveling, you let them choose.  This was a great idea when I met up with the Sydney Mrs Smith.  She chose Cafe Sydney, not somewhere I had heard of before, but she did say it was somewhere she had always wanted to go to, so sounded like a plan to me…

Mrs Smith got us in for lunch and we met up and headed on in.  Cafe Sydney is in a lovely location, very close to Opera House and Harbour Bridge.  Mrs Smith had pulled off a blinder by getting a table on the terrace outside.  I would add this is a few floors up, so the view was great.

We were seated with the best views possible, looking out at the Harbour Bridge and Circular Quay.  So all that we needed now was some great food.  We were not disappointed.  The food was great, served nice and quickly, without being a rush.

This was good as Mrs Smith, sadly, had to get back to work for a meeting, which did mean that she did not have time for dessert.  This did give me a decision to make, leave at the same time or order a dessert.  It may not have been the gallant thing to do, but I had to order a dessert.  Mrs Smith departed and I finished off a lovely dessert, which was a perfect way to end the meal.

When Mrs Smith said that she had always wanted to go to Cafe Sydney I really hoped that it lived up to her expectations and she confirmed that it definitely did and exceeded them.

Some glorious Cured King Salmon for my starter
A perfect main for lunch, Tuna Nicoise
To add to the lunch there was even some street entertainment going on underneath us, it all added to a lovely lunch
A beautiful dessert to finish it all off
